Asyut Governorate

Asyut (Arabic محافظة أسيوط Muhafazat Asyut, DMG Muhafazat Asyut ) is a governorate in Egypt with 3,441,597 inhabitants and is located in Middle Egypt.

It is in the north of the province al - Minya, bounded on the east by the Red Sea Governorate, to the south by the Government Sauhadsch and the west by the province al - New Valley. The eastern part of the province extends into the Arabian Desert. The administrative center is Asyut.
