Auggen

Community structure

History

Auggen was mentioned by name for the first time as Anghom in the year 752, making it one of the oldest communities in the Markgraeflerland. It assumes, however, that the first settlements established in the 1st century AD. In the year 1036 the place is called Ougheim. 1727 destroyed a large fire most of the lower village.

Economy and infrastructure

Today, located at the western Black Forest village lives mainly from tourism and wine: The municipality Auggen is known especially for its vineyard Schäf. Auggener Schäf is counted among the best Chasselas wines of Markgräferland. The wine cooperative Auggen grows most of the Auggener wines and is a significant economic factor loklaler.

Also located at the winery Auggen are manufactured by Jacoby fruit juices as well as the PEARL factory outlet, factory sale the mail order company Pearl Agency ( Buggingen ).
