Aurelio Mosquera

Aurelio Mosquera Narváez ( born August 2, 1883 in Quito, † November 16, 1939 ) was an Ecuadorian doctor and politician and from December 2, 1938 until his death on November 16, 1939 President of his country.

Mosquera completed his studies in medicine at the Universidad Central del Ecuador in 1907 with a doctorate and worked as a surgeon at the university in 1908 as a lecturer and from 1928 as Rector. He was a member of the Partido Liberal Radical Ecuatoriano and Senator. The circumstances of his death are still unclear. There is speculation about whether it was suicide.
