Ayopaya Municipality

The municipality Ayopaya (also: Villa de Independencia ) is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Ayopaya is one of two Municipalities of the province Ayopaya. It is bordered to the north and west by the department of La Paz, on the south by the province Tapacari, and on the east by the municipality of Morochata.

Geography

The municipality Ayopaya lies between the Cordillera del Mazo Cruz and the Cordillera Tunari, a northwestern section of the Cordillera Oriental.
