Banon (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence)
Banon is a French municipality with 1061 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Alpes- de -Haute -Provence, Provence -Alpes- Côte d' Azur region. She is one of ten member communities of the Local Government Association Pays de Banon.
Geography
The village is situated on a hill between the Mont Ventoux and the massif Montagne de Lure, 25 km north- west of Forcalquier and about 65 kilometers west of Digne- les- Bains, the seat of the prefecture. It is surrounded by corn and lavender fields. The municipal area stems from the River Coulon.
