Barnim Nature Park

The Barnim Nature Park was established on 9 May 1999. The landscape is in the north of Berlin, between the cities of Oranienburg, love the forest, Eberswalde and Bernau and closes in southern parts of the districts of Berlin Reinickendorf and Pankow with about 4000 hectares.
Size, use, location
It is 749 km ², of which 55 percent forest, 32 percent is used for agriculture and 3 percent water. The rest is built-up and traffic area. The Barnim Nature Park is the only transnational large protected area of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg and the only nature park in the state of Berlin.
The area of the Nature Park is located in the city triangle Oranienburg, Eberswalde and the southern tip of Bernau. In addition, it includes the districts of Barnim, Upper Havel and Mark- or country. A total of 65,000 people living in 55 places in Brandenburg section of the large nature reserve.
The included Berlin's Natural Park area is divided on the northern outskirts of the districts of Pankow ( Berlin-Buch, Berlin -Karow ) and Reinickendorf (Berlin- Tegel).
Characteristics
The landscape is dominated by the dating from the Ice Age Barnim plate. It is bounded by the two glacial valleys Eberswalde and Berlin in the north and south. In the east, the Oder in the West and the glacial valley of the Havel the Barnim limited.
Management
The seat of government was located between 1997 and 2003 in 11 Church Street in the district of Wandlitz. Between 2003 and October 2012, the management was given temporary accommodation in Bernau bei Berlin. Since then, the park administration is housed together with the nature watch, the patrons and the management of the agricultural museum in the old village school again in Wandlitz. Here's a new building in conjunction with the old village school and the Agricultural Museum has emerged since 2011 and was on September 7, 2013 as the Barnim Panorama - inaugurated Naturparkzentrum Agricultural Museum Wandlitz. The administration has regular events such as a day of regions, Ranger guides and other for people interested in nature.
