Bernd Förster
Bernhard Georg Josef Förster ( May 3, 1956 in Mosbach ) is a former German football player.
Career
Clubs
Rangers emerged from the youth of SV Waldhof Mannheim and received in this also a first team contract for the 1974/75 season in the 2nd Bundesliga Süd. There he made his debut on August 3, 1974 ( 1st Round ) 1-1 draw in the game with the Stuttgarter Kickers. Before the end of the first round joined Rangers for FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, where he even came to the end of season six and in the following season only twice used. Furthermore, he came - einwechslungsbedingt - to eight minutes of playing time in the DFB Cup ( 2:3 home defeat against MSV Duisburg) and 15 minutes in the European Cup of Champions (5-0 Jeunesse Esch and 2-0 against Malmö FF).
From 1976 to 1978 he played for the first FC Saarbrücken, where he played all 34 games in the second season and once in the DFB - Pokal - in the 1-2 home defeat against his former club - was used.
From 1978 to 1986 he was part of the squad of VfB Stuttgart, for whom he played the most league games. His last Bundesliga Match of Rangers on 10 August 1985 ( Matchday 1 ) a 0-0 draw at home against Borussia Moenchengladbach, in which he was substituted after 45 minutes ( for Rainer Zietsch ). A serious knee injury forced Förster his professional career after 291 Bundesliga matches (25 goals) to end 1986.
National
From November 11th 1973 to April 3rd, 1974 Ranger played 11 games for the DFB youth selection. He made his debut in Sindelfingen in the 2-1 win over the youth team of Sweden and played in Pitesti in the 0-2 defeat against the youth team of Romania. From 14 to 19 November, he participated with the youth national team in the tournament at the Prince Albert Cup, won in the final against the selection of Belgium 4-1 in a penalty shootout. On December 4, 1974 Ranger was a member of the amateur national team, which beat the selection of Italy 2-0 in Dortmund. 1979, 1980 and 1981 forester was appointed one for a game in the B team: 3-0 against the Norwegian national football team 0-2 in Switzerland and 1-0 against the Soviet Union. His debut in the senior team, he was on 22 May 1979 with a 3-1 win against the national team of Ireland. He participated in the 1982 World Cup in Spain, previously at the European Championships 1980 in Italy and 1984 in France.
Bernd Förster and his younger brother Karl Heinz was one of five sets of brothers who have played together in the national team: Fritz and Ottmar Walter, Erwin and Helmut Kremers, Karl -Heinz Rummenigge and Michael, Lars and Sven Bender.
