Betoncourt-sur-Mance

Betoncourt -sur -Mance is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Betoncourt -sur -Mance is located at an altitude of 235 m above sea level, 2 km north of Vitrey -sur -Mance and about 39 km northwest of the city of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the extreme north- west of the department, on the northern edge of the valley of Mance, at the foot Dessessart in the eastern foothills of the plateau of Langres.

The area of ​​3.72 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the plateau of Langres west of the upper Saônetals. The southern boundary runs mostly along the Mance which it flows through approximately 1.5 kilometers wide Alluvialniederung to the east. The flood plain is an average of 225 m and is used mainly for agricultural purposes. From the river, the municipality's area extends north across the floodplain and a 100 m high steep slope down to the adjacent plateau, which reaches an average height of 320 m. Just above the concrete court is the plateau of Les Essarts (343 m ). The area extends further northward to the edge of the Bois de Neuvelle. With 367 m is reached on this plateau, the highest point of Betoncourt -sur -Mance. In geological- tectonic terms, the terrain consists of an alternation of sandy- marly and calcareous sediments that were deposited on the merits during the Lias ( Lower Jurassic ).

History

Is first mentioned concrete Court in 1239th in the Middle Ages concrete Court belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government has held the monastery Cherlieu. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. To 1790 Concrete Court belonged to the parish Pisseloup.

Attractions

The village church of Betoncourt -sur -Mance was built in the time of the French Revolution. She has several paintings, including that of the Holy Ferréol and Ferjeux.

Population

With 41 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Betoncourt -sur -Mance is one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. Throughout the 20th century, the population decreased continuously (1881 were still 261 persons counted ).

Economy and infrastructure

Betoncourt -sur -Mance is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Some employed persons are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Blondefontaine after Anrosey. Another road connection with Vitrey -sur -Mance.
