Big Bear Lake, California

Big Bear Lake is a city in the San Bernardino Mountains on the California State Route 18, about 48 kilometers from the main town of the county. The town is a popular summer and winter sports area and lies on the southern shore of the lake.
The lake has a length of 11 kilometers and is four kilometers wide. The depth of the water is 10.70 to 22 meters. The area is about 138 square kilometers, the volume of water about 2.26 cubic kilometers. The lake is rich in fish species such as trout and carp.
