Björn Ferm

Björn Ferm ( born August 10, 1944 in Jönköping ) is a former Swedish Modern pentathlete. It was 1968, the eighth and last until 2007 Swede, who won the individual competition in the modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games.

Ferm 1965 World Junior Champion. At the World Cup in 1967 in his hometown of Jonkoping, he won bronze behind Balczó András from Hungary and stasis Schaparnis from the Soviet Union. With the team Ferm was second behind the Hungarians.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City Balczó was after riding 90 points behind Ferm and this residue could not fully catch up to the end. Ferm won with 4964 points and 11 points ahead. With the team Ferm actually occupied the third place. The team was disqualified after Hans- Gunnar Liljenvall was found guilty of doping.

1969 Björn Ferm was again third in the World Championship. It gained even more Balcsó before Boris Onishchenko. After this World Cup reduced Ferm his sporting activities in order to finish his studies in philosophy. 1972 at the Olympic Games Ferm approached again; he finished 6th place in the individual standings and 5th place with the team.

Björn Ferm belonged to the Djurgårdens IF in Stockholm.
