Blackbird is the second studio album by American rock band Alter Bridge.

Genesis

In 2006 the band had completed the lyrics and began shortly after the recordings. However, it dissolved the contract with Wind - Up Records and signed a new contract with Universal Republic. Big Ben, who had produced the debut album, One Day Remains, was replaced by Elvis Baskette, who had already produced, among other albums for Iggy Pop and Story of the Year. As singles Rise Today, Watch Over You and Before Tomorrow Comes were released. To all singles, with the exception of Before Tomorrow Comes, there was music videos. In the UK, in addition the Single Ties That Bind was coupled, for which also no music video was filmed. Blackbird was released on October 7, 2007 and sold until 2008, an estimated 227,000 times.

Buffo Schnädelbach of Rock Hard was of the view that the long break would have been good for Blackbird and the band would have developed further their style instead of copying the pattern of success of One Day Remains. He forgave nine out of ten. Bastian said Voigtländer of metal.de that the songs would not be bad and not boring, but found that after a strong beginning of a slight disappointment would come.
