Blšany u Loun

Blšany u Loun ( German Pschan ) is a municipality with 216 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is 4 km south-east of Louny in 199 m asl on Smolnický Brook, a tributary to Eger. The place is located on the railway line from Louny after Zlonice.

History

Belonging to the precincts of the city Louny village was first mentioned in 1221 under the name Pšany. 1450, the city sold a part of the village to the manorial Chlumčany which again came back in 1525. After the confiscation of the Municipal Property in 1547, acquired in 1548 by Mikuláš Mířkovský Tropčice the place.

After several changes of ownership in 1637, was the Prague Castle marshal Jan Karel Příchovský Příchovice new landlord. In 1682 the family sold Příchovský Blšany with the Archbishop of Prague. In the middle of the 19th century Cardinal Friedrich von Schwarzenberg gave the place to the landlord of Cítoliby, Johann Adolf of Schwarzenberg, who united him with this rule.

The land reform of 1924, the detachment from Cítoliby and the castle remained in private ownership until 1949. After nationalization a seed establishment was built on the castle estate, which used the palace as the seat and storage took place.
