BMW N57

The BMW N57 is a straight-six diesel engine, which has been produced since 2008. Characteristic are its aluminum crankcase, driven camshaft timing chain as well as the common-rail injection, the fourth generation 1800 ( N57D30OL ) or 2000 bar ( N57D30TOP ) injection pressure. The motor is either a VTG turbocharger ( N57D30OL ), two differently sized turbochargers ( N57D30TOP ), of which the smaller one with a variable turbine geometry ( VTG) is equipped, or 3 different sized turbochargers ( N57D30S1 ) charged.
