Bobsam Elejiko

Bobsam Elejiko ( born August 18, 1981 in Abuja, † 13 November, 2011 Merksem, Antwerp ) was a Belgian- Nigerian football player.

Career

Elejiko began his career at the Stationary Stores in Lagos. In the summer of 1999 he took part in a trial with Spanish second division club Málaga CF. This he insisted and, after completion of medical tests to the Spanish club, was there but not on the role of the amateur team out, and therefore changed in July 2000 in the German Football Oberliga Nordost to FSV Wacker 90 Nordhausen. After a year in the Football Oberliga Nordost be Elejiko opted for a move to Belgium for Derde Class -A team KV Turnhout. There he completed in one and a half years, twenty games and scored one goal before in January 2003, joined the KVC Westerlo from the Eerste Division. In Westerlo he quickly developed a top performer and played with the club in the UEFA Cup. Elejiko remained four years at KVC Westerlo maintained 70 games until his move to FC Antwerp in June 2007.

In the summer of 2008, he accepted an offer from the Portuguese first division side SC Beira -Mar. After being denied an injury in the first half of the 2008/2009 season just a game, but he moved in the spring of 2009 returned to Belgium to KMSK Deinze. He signed a contract until the end of the season and came to the end of the season to 14 games for Deinze. After the expiry of his contract, he decided on a change in the Eerste Klasse to KV Red Star Waasland. After the end of the contract in June 2010 Elejiko was initially without a club before he joined in 2011 the SC Merksem from the Eerste Provinciale Antwerpen.

Private

Elejiko was married to a Belgian, and had with her three children. Through the marriage he owned next to the Nigerian passport Belgian citizenship.

Death

Elejiko broke in the home game of his club Merksem Koninklijke Sporting Club November 13, 2011 against FC Excelsior Kaart together and still died on the court.
