Booker T (wrestler)

Booker Tio Huffman Jr. ( born March 1, 1965 in Houston, Texas), better known as Booker T is an American professional wrestler. He trained for many years with his brother Lane Huffman ( Stevie Ray ), the tag team Harlem Heat, which the eternal record for the preservation of the WCW World Tag Team Champion keeps title with 10 regencies. Also as a single wrestler he was allowed to wear more than one title. He is currently in WWE as General Manager of SmackDown under contract.

Biography

Wrestling career

Huffman grew up in a family without a father. In his youth he pursued boxing and was arrested a short time later for robbery. After his release, he joined his brother Lane and both started a wrestling training at the former WWF wrestler Ivan Putski. In 1989, he made his debut in the Western Wrestling Alliance as GI Bro. A little later the two of them exchanged for the Global Wrestling Federation ( GWF ), and stood there on the Ebony Express where they were able to win the local tag team titles. GWF Champion Sid Vicious finally caused the contact to World Championship Wrestling, which required the team a little later.

World Championship Wrestling ( 1993-2001 )

" Harlem Heat"

In World Championship Wrestling then acted as Harlem Heat. They could win the Tag Team titles against teams like the Nasty Boys, Sting (Steve Borden ) and Lex Luger, the Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner ) and Billy Kidman and Konnan total of ten times.

Success as a single wrestler

Towards the end of 1997 was the first attempt to establish Huffman as a single wrestler. First, he could defeat Disco Inferno and win the World Television Title. After he was allowed to keep the title a few months, he had to give him an injury. After his return, he feuded against Stevie Ray. In the spring of 1999 Huffman Scott Steiner was allowed to take off the Television title, but these later had to lose a few weeks to Rick Steiner. Middle of Harlem Heat was reunited and they were once again win the title. At Bash at the Beach 2000, he was allowed to win the world heavyweight title against Jeff Jarrett. This track he was allowed to hold until the end of the year when he had to lose him to Scott Steiner.

Before the WCW was bought in 2001 by the WWE allowed Huffman Rick Steiner defeated WCW United States and became a champion and at the last Nitro - Issue March 26, he was allowed to defeat Scott Steiner for the World Heavyweight title.

WWE ( 2001-2007 )

RAW ( 2001 to 2003)

At SummerSlam Huffman had to lose the WCW title against The Rock. This was followed by short feuds with Undertaker and Steve Austin. At the beginning of 2002, he led some feuds and he was briefly a member of the New World Order. In the second half he could win with partner Goldust the World Tag Team Championship. After he had to lose this item again, he could win it in 2004 along with Rob Van Dam again. In the meantime, he feuded with Triple H and Christian.

SmackDown! (2003 to 2007)

The following year, Huffman was in the spring to SmackDown! changed. After a short feud with The Undertaker, he was allowed to win the WWE United States Championship from John Cena. AM October 3, 2004 at No Mercy, he lost the title back to Cena. There followed a feud with JBL to the WWE Championship. On 18 October 2005, Huffman was allowed to re- secure U.S. title - this time from Chris Benoit. In those he had to give back the title on 19 February 2006. In the meantime, he won on January 10, 2006 after a best- of-seven series the title again, as it came on 22 November 2005 in Smackdown to a double pinfall in a match against Benoit and the title was declared vacant.

Shortly thereafter, he was allowed to win the re-imported King of the Ring tournament. At the Great American Bash on July 23, 2006, he was allowed to defeat Rey Mysterio and became the new World Heavyweight Champion. At Survivor Series on November 26, 2006, he lost the WHC to Batista.

Return to RAW and dismissal (2007)

On June 11, 2007 Huffman was of SmackDown! drafted to RAW. He feuded first against Jerry Lawler. This was followed by a match at SummerSlam against the returning Triple H. With RAW on August 27, he played against John Cena his last match. On September 9, 2007 Huffman was suspended in the wake of the wellness policy of the WWE, because of repeated administration of various drugs for 60 days. He denied taking non-prescribed and illegal substances. On October 16, 2007, WWE announced the official release Huffman and his wife, Sharmell, as of October 27 of the same year known.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2007-2009)

On November 11, 2007 Huffman debuted as Booker T at TNA major event "Genesis" as a surprise partner of Sting. On 23 October 2008 he was allowed to introduce the TNA Legends Championship and declared himself the first title holder. The title he had lost to AJ Styles on March 15, 2009. At Victory Road on July 19, 2009, he could win with Scott Steiner, TNA World Tag Team Championship from Beer Money, Inc.. They lost the title at Bound for Glory on October 18, 2009, Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams. This was also his last appearance for TNA.

WWE ( 2011- current)

On 30 January 2011 Huffman returned after more than three years back to World Wrestling Entertainment. There he took part in the big event at the Royal Rumble Royal Rumble Match. Subsequently, he became part of the commentators teams of SmackDown. Also his participation was known as a trainer for the fourth season of WWE Tough Enough.

By November 2011, he was working up to a match in June, exclusively as a commentator. From late November 2011 to early January 2012, Huffman was in a feud with Cody Rhodes.

In the SmackDown July 31, 2012, he was appointed by Mr. McMahon as the new General Manager of SmackDown. On March 18, 2013 it was announced that Huffman is incorporated into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2013.

Outside of wrestling

Huffman has one son from a previous relationship and long ago. Since 2002, he is married with Sharmell Sullivan - Huffman. This was former "Miss Black America " and earlier as a member of the WCW Paisley - dance troupe "Nitro Girls". Since Huffman change to WWE they came more and more to the fore and also acted as his manager.

He has created a second leg next to the wrestling. In his hometown of Houston, he runs the business " JamZone ", a shop for video games, music CDs and clothing. In addition, he leads with his brother Lane own wrestling school ( Pro Wrestling Alliance ) and is active there as a coach.

Huffman was in an episode of Charmed - Magical Witches a guest appearance and played a demonic wrestler. Furthermore, he starred in Ready to Rumble.
