Breakaway (English for " breaking " ) is the second studio album by American singer Kelly Clarkson. Musically, Clarkson moved to the separation of the producers of the television program American Idol away from her R & B -influenced debut and toward pop and rock, which has often been compared in the reviews with Avril Lavigne.

It was published for the first time on 30 November 2004 in the United States. In Germany it was released on 1 August 2005. The album won a Grammy.

Success

Germany

In Germany Breakaway first appeared in August 2005, due to the not so great success of the previous album Thankful which not even reached the Top 100 of the German album charts. The album immediately rose into the top 20, due to the advance single Since U Been Gone, which was the first hit of Kelly Clarkson. The album fell, after which it almost reached the top 10, and on. Only with the third single Because of You and the appearance in the TV show Wetten, dass., the album climbed into the Top 5 of the German album charts.
