Brest Raion

The Raion Brest ( Belarusian Брэсцкі раён; Russian Брестский район ) is an administrative unit in the west of Breszkaja Woblasz in Belarus. The Rajon has an area of ​​1617 km ² and is divided into a Passawet and 11 Selsawets. The administrative center is the city of Brest.

Geography

The Raion Brest is located in the southwest of the country and the Breszkaja Woblasz. The Nachbarrajone in Belarus are in the north Kamjanez, in the east and southeast Schabinka Malaryta. The entire western border of the Rajons runs the bow and along the eastern border of Poland.

History

The administrative unit was formed on 15 January 1940.
