Brett Lysak

Brett Lysak ( born December 12, 1980 in St. Albert, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL since September 2012.

Career

Lysak played for the St. Albert Raiders of the Alberta Midget Hockey League in. From 1996 he was active in the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. After his third season, he was chosen as the top scorer of his team in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the second round by 49 out of the Carolina Hurricanes. He stayed two more years in Regina, he also finished as the top scoring player.

His first professional contract signed Lysak for 2001/02 season and played for the farm team of the Hurricanes. These were the Florida Everblades in the East Coast Hockey League and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League. In the 2003 /04 season he played two games in the National Hockey League.

Then he moved to Europe to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Hockey League. Lysak completed a solid season and was also " penalty box king" of the Roosters. For the new season, he returned to North America, but after four games for the Manitoba Moose, he went to the HC Milano Vipers in the Italian Serie A1. The Canadians stayed for two seasons, where his team won the championship in 2006. The season 2007/ 08 he spent in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen at the Odense Bulldogs. The next year he joined the League to EfB Ishockey. In July 2010, Lysak joined the Slovenian HK Jesenice. For the 2011/12 season Lysak moved to Graz 99ers.
