Bubión

Bubión is a municipality in the Alpujarra in the southern Sierra Nevada in the Spanish province of Granada.

Bubión is around 1,300 meters above sea level at the Poqueira Ravine, a tributary of the Rio Guadalfeo. Together with Capileira in the north and in the south Pampaneira the site was classified as Conjunto histórico - artístico. History

Bubión was probably founded in Roman times to the birth of Christ, because in the 19th century remains of Roman burial sites were found. Under the rule of the Moors the Alpujarras gained a certain importance. She put the last bastion of the Moors on Spanish soil dar. In the 13th century Bubión became the capital of the Taha de Poqueira, an area which included the villages Capileira, Bubion, Pampaneira and the non-existent Alguastar.
