Bubnjarci

Bubnjarci ( to 1918 St. Kosma and Damian ) is a village in Croatia near the Slovenian border. The name Bubnjarci ( kroat. Bubnjar = drummer ) comes from the 15-16. Century, when the inhabitants of the Knights of Ozalj Ribnik and served as a drummer in the fight against the Turks. Geographical location

History

Railway history

Famous people

Attractions

Worth seeing is the 1753 finished, highly visible baroque chapel of Sveti Kriz with her old cemetery. In the chapel there are two side altars historically interesting from the year 1830. Currently, this completely renovated by the inhabitants with a new copper roof and new facade. The chapel was first mentioned in 1688, but had been built without a bell tower with the entrance area. Even before the founding of the parish Zupe Žakanje belonged Bubnjarci as a church community to Lipnik. To see today is still the old water tower of kukEisenbahn, who was fired in order to fill the many steam locomotives with hot water. At various places one can still sense the twelve shunting and turning tracks, along the direction Kupa river crossing bridge were laid. The old and now dilapidated railway building indicated today point to the then active around 1900 in Bubnjarci.
