Bum Bum Island

Pulau Bum Bum (sometimes Pulau Bum Bun) is a Malaysian state of Sabah on the easternmost island belonging to the southeast side of the open to the Celebes Sea Darvel Bay. The island is located in Semporna district of Tawau Division. It is located about one kilometer east of Semporna and is the second largest island in the Darvel Bay. It is thickly wooded in parts. The island is irregularly shaped, but remembers a total of an upside -standing, flat triangle. Your maximum extent in the north-south direction is about 12.8 km, in east-west direction about 19.7 km. [Note 1] They reached sporadically heights up to 20 m; the top level of the forest cover is given as 46 to 52 m. The island is connected by a navigable channel - separated from the mainland - the Terusan Tando Bulong.

Infrastructure

The inhabited island is criss-crossed by a road network. The connection to the mainland by ferry takes place. In February 2012, the Ministry of Finance approved a project worth 100 million euro, with a 1.4 km long bridge will connect the island to the mainland.
