The Federal Highway 45 ( Abbreviation: B 45) leads from Sinsheim to Wöllstadt.

The section between upper and Umstadt Hochst was expanded in the years 1887-1889 as a highway. In the 1930s, the numbering is as Reichsstraße 45, wherein various individual routes have been summarized. After some route changes and relocations on the B ring roads today is 45 156 km long and runs from south to north by the states of Baden -Württemberg and Hesse.

Course

The Federal Highway 45 begins in Sinsheim near the A 6 From Neckargemuend about Hirschhorn until shortly before Eberbach leads the main road along the Neckar River and then crosses to Dieburg the Odenwald and in due course about Rödermark, Rodgau and Hanau Main level. Substitutions

The four-lane section Dieburg - Hanau was from 1974 to 1979 originally built as a motorway A 683 and put into operation, while the B 45 also took the old way through the EU urban areas. At the instigation of the affected communities and the A was rezoned to B 45 683 in the early 1980s and the country, county or urban roads downgraded the old route to.

In June 2009 ( archaeological excavations initially) planned for 20 years, 9.5 km long bypass Nidderau was construction begun (Project of Hesse Mobile: B 45 / B 521 OU Nidderau / Windecken and Nidderau / Heldenbergen ).
