Bystřice

The Bystřice ( German Bistrita ) is a left tributary of the Cidlina in the Czech Republic.

It rises 481 meters above sea level in in the Giant Mountains foothills east of the city Pecka between the villages of Horni Brusnice ( Oberprausnitz ) and Vidonice (Wide sealed ).

On his way south, the water flows near the village of Kal ( Kall ) to approximately 4 km through the valley Kalske 's Valley. The typical foothills stands on 25 acres as a natural monument under state protection since 1990. At 462 meters high Homolka is a few hundred meters downstream, another natural monument.

Along the river course follow the places VIDON and Miletínek and Miletín, between which the nature reserve Miletínská bažantnice is to the right of the river.

There follow Rohoznice and the mouth of the Bubnovka. This is followed by a valley between the villages of Doubrava and Hořice connects. The natural meanders and wetlands of the valley were also made ​​in 1990 as a natural monument Údolí Bystřice on 17 acres under protection. To the north lies another natural monument, the 3 -acre meadow Farárova Louka.

There the Bystřice turns to the west and flows past Kratonohy, Kosičky and Kosice, was straightened from where the Bystřice and got a new bed. The old riverbed leads as Mlýnská Bystřice westwards to Cidlina while the main course of the river was moved straight to the southwest, where he between Chlumec nad Cidlinou and Kladruby 63 km in 214 m discharges into the Cidlina. Its catchment area is 379 km ².
