Nechanice

Nechanic ( German Nechanitz ) is a city in Okres Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic. It is 14 kilometers west of the county town of Hradec Králové.

Geography

Nechanic is the Vychodolabská tabule the river Bystřice. Neighboring towns are Sucha and Stračovská Lota in the north, and Třesovice Střezetice in the northeast, Lubno and Horni Přím in the east, Hradek and Radostov to the southeast, and Končice Zvikov in the south, Kobylice and Nový Bydžov in the west and Podoliby in the northwest.

History

Nechanic was first mentioned in 1228, when the Czech king Wenceslas I. Leitomischl the monastery for his deceased brother Vladislav salvation overwrote fines that have been recorded in the country table. Other owners have included Albrecht von Kolowrat and Johann von Waldstein, who sold the reign of Nicholas Nechanic Pencingár of Bydžín before 1521. Its descendant Ctibor Smil lost possessions after the Battle of White Mountain. Later Nechanic had the Count Schaffgotsch and last until the expropriation in 1945 the Count Harrach. After the castle burned down in 1744 Sadová Built Franz Ernst von Harrach at Nechanic the castle Hradek Castle, which served as the seat of the Counts Harrach below.

1866 Nechanic was strongly affected by the German War Battle of Hradec Kralove. Of economic importance was in the second half of the 19th century, the Musikbau comprises largely harps were produced. Attractions

  • The previously mentioned 1228 Church of the Assumption was rebuilt from 1680 to 1692 under Ernst Schaffgotsch and expanded. After a fire in 1827 the church of Count Harrach was built in 1833 again.
