Calapan

Calapan ( officially: City of Calapan, Filipino: Lungsod ng Calapan ) is the capital of the province of Oriental Mindoro. Calapan was charged by a municipality ( Municipality ) to a city (Component City ) on 21 March 1998.

The municipality is situated at the eastern entrance to the Isla Verde Street, this is considered a hot spot of biodiversity of marine life in the Philippines and worldwide.

In Calapan City, the Divine Word College of Calapan university is located.
