MIMAROPA or Region IV -B is a Philippine region. The name MIMAROPA is an acronym that is composed of the names of the provinces of the region: MI ( Ndoro ), MA ( rinduque ), RO ( mblon ), PA ( Lawan ). Calapan City is the regional center.
On 17 May 2002, the District Southern Tagalog CALABARZON and MIMAROPA was divided into. A resolution of 23 May 2005, was for the province of Palawan to annex the Western Visayas region. The implementation of this decision but was canceled for the time being on 19 August 2005 and has not been made until now.
