History

The University's history began in 1910, the Aborlan Farm Settlement School was established for the indigenous people of the Tagbanuwa. It was extended in 1928 and received the status of a high school and Aborlan Agricultural High School was named. This was in 1960 renamed the Palawan Regional Agricultural School. In 1962 she was again renamed Palawan National School and was merged with the Palawan National Agricultural College. In 1995 the status was raised and renamed the State Polytechnic College of Palawan, which in 2004 received the status of a university and the Western Philippines University was opened.
