Popular day trips with a local outrigger boat ( bangka ) perform in the Bacuit archipelago of islands and paradise beaches, for Cadlao Iceland with a 609 m high peak, for Pinagbuyutan Iceland, with a secluded beach and a 370 m high, almost vertical sides, limestone and Vigan Iceland ( Snake Iceland ) with a serpentine sandbank.

Underwater world in the archipelago Bacuit

In 1998, the area in Bacuit archipelago was declared before El Nido in the South China Sea into a marine protected area. The coral reef was largely destroyed by the effects of Cyanidfischens in most places. The condition is exacerbated by hundreds of crowns of thorns ( Acanthaster planci ), which are rare in such concentration. Since the (actually, according to CITES strictly protected ) is conch ( Charonia tritonis ) the only natural enemy and is considered a delicacy enjoys great popularity, is also a tourist souvenir with locals, its decline is partly responsible for this massive spread. In some reef sites in the channel- facing sides of the Tapiutan Iceland and Iceland Matinloc there are still schools of fusiliers and other colorful reef fish. The corals are still in largely intact, but first crown of thorns also spread here. To protect the biodiversity, the El Nido - Taytay Managed Resource Protected Area was established in 1998.
