History

The University's history began in June 1915, when the Odiongan Farm School was opened in Odiongan. The school was then aligned to give the locals modern agricultural practices. 165 students were registered at the beginning of the school year. 1929, the school was transferred to the Odiongan Rural High School and in 1947 it was renamed the Odiongan High School. 1956, the status of the school was increased by the Republic Act 1381 and the High School transferred to the Odiongan National Agriculture National School and in 1958 it was renamed in Romblon National Agricultural School. 1962, the school was awarded the title of a College, the Romblon National Agricultural College, which was amended in Romblon Agricultural College in 1969.

Since 1978, the deputies the title of State Colleges strove in the Parliament of High School to lend in order to obtain additional funds for the expansion. This request could not be implemented until 1983 and September 30, 1983, the Romblon State College was opened. The former last milestone in the history of the university was held on 14 October 2009, when the then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed the Republic Act 9721 and the Romblon State University was established.
