Calico System

Calico System was an American metalcore band from St. Louis, Missouri, which was founded in 1998 and disbanded in 2007. The band performed in their career together with groups such as Hatebreed, Poison the Well, Open Hand, Hopesfall, Finger Eleven, Candiria, Sworn Enemy, Codeseven, and Dredg.

History

The band was founded in summer 1998. After putting in the following two years, the cast had changed several times, was formed in 2001 with singer Mark Owens, guitarist Shawn Keith, bassist Nick mite damage and drummer Erik Ramsier a solid cast. In the same year the EP Question the Answer, who joined the second EP Love Will Kill All the spring of 2003 appeared. This was followed by local concerts and tours of the United States along with Hatebreed and Poison the Well, before the group signed with Eulogy Recordings. In the fall of 2003 here on the debut album The Duplicated Memory. Then Rick Giordano came as second guitarist to the band. In 2004, the band played together with Evergreen Terrace, Haste, The Black Halos, Philmore, Across Five Aprils, Every New Day, Glasseater, Hawthorne Heights and Adair. In January and February 2005, the band went along with reflux, The Warriors and Deadsoil on tour through North America. Then the band went to New Jersey in the Big Blue Meenie Studios to record the album They Live, which was released in November. After the recordings, the band played along with Burning Season, before the summer was followed by appearances with Haste the Day. In August, the band then went on along with Nodes of Ranvier, then in the winter followed by concerts with Love Hate Hero, Chiodos and Odd Project. In December, the band then played with Hand to Hand. After the album Outside Are the Vultures was released in 2007, the band announced their dissolution in July.

Style

The debut album The Duplicate memory is referred to as " emocore with punk and metal (core) influences ". The singing here is partly guttural and mostly clear. In They Live, the band played punk metalcore, so that they can be classified between groups such as Evergreen Terrace, Heaven Shall Burn and Atreyu. Outside Are the Vultures offered classic metalcore, which here again joined the singing.
