California State University, Long Beach

The California State University, Long Beach ( also Long Beach State, Cal State Long Beach, CSULB, LBSU, or The Beach) is a State University in Long Beach in Los Angeles County, California. With 34 863 students, it is one of the largest universities in the California State University system.

History

The Cal State Long Beach was founded in 1949 as the Los Angeles - Orange County State College. Renamed in 1962 in California State College at Long Beach, 1966 already 20,000 students were enrolled. In 1972, she was given its present name.

Sports

The sports teams in the Cal State Long Beach are The 49ers, also called The unofficially Beach. The University is a founding member of the Big West Conference.
