Camelin

Camelin is a commune with 444 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district of Laon and the canton of Coucy -le- Château- Auffrique.

Geography

The community Camelin lies on the border of Oise, 25 kilometers northwest of Soissons and ten kilometers southeast of Noyon. To Camelin include the districts Bresson, Marivaux and Lombray

History

During the French Revolution the church Camelin et le Fresne was formed from the towns of Le Fresne Camelin and that later only Camelin said. In 1971, the neighboring towns Marivaux and Lombray were incorporated.
