Camila Giorgi

Camila Giorgi (born 31 December 1991 in Macerata) is an Italian tennis player.

Career

Giorgi began at the age of five years with the sport of tennis and likes to play on hard courts. In 2006, she went in the Junior Women at the start, in 2007, she contested her first tournament on the ITF Women's Circuit.

So far, they won five ITF tournaments: 2009 in Katowice ( Poland) and Toronto ( Canada ), 2010 in Rock Hill, 2011 in Carson, and 2012 in Dothan (all three USA).

At Wimbledon, she qualified first time in 2011 for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament, but failed in the first round in straight sets to Tsvetana Pironkova.

In her second appearance in Wimbledon she then made ​​headlines: After three wins in qualifying, she defeated Flavia Pennetta 2012 successively, Anna Tatischwili and Nadia Petrova, before she retired in the second round with 2:6 and 3:6 against Agnieszka Radwańska.

Personal

Camila Giorgi, whose parents come from Argentina, has two brothers. Her older sister Antonella was killed in a car accident in July 2011.
