Capital Indoor Stadium

The Capital Indoor Stadium (English: Capital Indoor Stadium ) is a sports hall on Baishi Bridge in Beijing's Haidian District. It serves as a sports venue for volleyball, table tennis, badminton, basketball and gymnastics and figure skating and ice hockey. At the 2008 Summer Olympic Games here the competitions were held in indoor volleyball.

The Capital Indoor Stadium was built in 1968. On the occasion of the Universiade, it has been extended. Now it has an area of ​​54 707 square meters seating for 18,000 spectators. For the 2008 Summer Olympics, the stadium was renovated as one of eleven competition venues again. This work began on 18 May 2006 and ended in December 2007.
