The Captain Cook Highway is a relatively short trunk road in the tropical north of the Australian state of Queensland. It runs over a length of 75 km in the Südnord direction and connects Cairns to Mossman and the Daintree National Park.

The Captain Cook Highway begins in the center of Cairns. There it forms a continuation of the forth coming of Brisbane in southern Bruce Highway ( NA1 ). About 12 kilometers north of Cairns, in Smithfield, branches of the Kennedy Highway from the west. From this point on the Captain Cook Highway is signposted State Road 44 ( S44). He then continues in a northwesterly direction. He follows the course of the country's coastline and winds its way between the coast on the one hand and a tropical rain forest on the other side of the road. This makes the track very popular with tourists. After about 49 km take the turnoff to the town of Port Douglas is reached. 14 km further north is Mossman Here the Captain Cook Highway meets the Mossman - Daintree Road and ends. From Mossman from roads lead further north to Cooktown and Cape York Peninsula, as well as in the nearby Daintree National Park with the famous Cape Tribulation.
