Carl Robie

Carl Joseph Robie III (also The Philadelphia Flyers; born May 12, 1945 in Darby, Pennsylvania, † November 30, 2011 in Sarasota, Florida ) was an American swimmer.

Life

Carl Joseph Robie, born in 1945 in Darby, could improve in the sixties, four times the world record over 200 m butterfly. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 he won the silver medal in the 200 m butterfly. Four years later, " The Philadelphia Flyers " then at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City Olympic champion over this distance. In 1976 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.

Robie died on 30 November 2011 at the age of 66 years.
