Mike Troy

Michael Francis "Mike" Troy ( born October 3, 1940 in Indianapolis ) is a retired American swimmer.

In its prime location 200 m butterfly, he was at the Summer Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 Olympic champion. He also won the gold medal at the same games with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. During his career, he could set a new world record in the 200 m butterfly five times.

The highlight of his career reached Troy 1959-1960, while he coached at Indiana University under coach James Counsilman.

After his career as an athlete was Michael Troy swimming coach and official in the U.S. NOK and the American Swimming Association. In 1971 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
