Carlo Annovazzi

Carlo Annovazzi ( born May 24, 1925 in Milan, † October 10, 1980 ) was an Italian football player who ran aground during his playing career for AC Milan, Atalanta, Anconitana Ancona, SG Gallaratese and Città di Castello and for the Italian national football team.

Carlo Annovazzi began his professional career in 1945 with AC Milan, for which he was active in Serie A eight years. The midfielder played with the Milanese always to the front ranks with, reaching you in all eight seasons, a place among the top four teams. The greatest success he achieved in season 1950/51, with a counter as he could win with the team before the city rivals Inter Milan, the Italian championship. In 1953 he joined Atalanta, with whom he relegation successfully ensured in the early years. After the season in 1957/58 the team finally got the second- last starting to Serie B and Annovazzi left the club. For the seasons 1959/60 and 1960/61, the midfielder was still at SG Gallaratese or Città di Castello under contract with which he took in the then- fourth-rate Series D.

National

Annovazzi was first appointed in 1947 in the Italian selection for which he made his debut in a 3-1 win against Czechoslovakia on 14 December 1947. The midfielder was called up by coach Ferruccio Novo in the Italian squad for the World Cup 1950 in Brazil. He played his only tournament game when he ran aground in the game against Sweden and narrowly lost to the Italians. Also, the following win against Paraguay brought the team not in the next round, as the Swedes gained the needed point against Paraguay. Annovazzi graduated in the match against Belgium on February 24, 1952 his last international game.
