Carlo Costly

Yair Costly Molina Carlo ( born July 18, 1982 in San Pedro Sula ) is a Honduran footballer, who currently for Veria FC in the Greek Super League play and is a member of the Honduran national football team.

Career

Association

At the age of fourteen years, Carlo Costly and his family moved to Mexico City and trained there, among others, at Celaya FC, ​​Monarcas Morelia, CF Atlas and Pumas. Later he returned to Honduras and began his professional career in the 2006 season when CD Platense. After only one season and ten goals in 19 games, he was loaned to GKS Belchatow and the Polish club committed after eleven games and six goals immediately. In July and August 2007, he completed two matches in the UEFA Cup against 2007/08-Qualifikation Ameri Tbilisi. After a 4-2 win on penalties Belchatow managed to progress to the second qualifying round, where they lost against the Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk after return match with 3:5.

After good performances for Belchatow he completed several tryouts with English clubs like Plymouth Argyle, Leeds United and Birmingham City. In January 2009 he was awarded by the end of the season at Birmingham City. He made his debut on February 7, when he came into the game as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Burnley. After eight league games, but not a single goal, he returned in July 2009 back to Poland. After his return, he played in the first round of the 2008/09 season only three league games and scored one goal. On 24 January 2010, he then moved to Romania for FC Vaslui, where he signed a three and a half year contract. In December 2010 he left the FC Vaslui and returned in January 2011, back in his second home for CF Atlas.

In July 2011, he was then loaned to the Major Soccer League at Houston Dynamo. After eleven league operations and a goal is scored, he returned to Atlas. In September 2012, he moved to Greek club Veria FC.

National

On 4 January 2007 he was nominated by coach Flavio Ortega for the squad of the Copa Centroamericana Nations Cup 2007 in El Salvador, but after Ortega died of a stroke shortly before the start of the tournament, took over interim coach Jose de la Paz Herrera the team and ran Costly from the squad. Costly originally belonged to the squad for the World Cup in South Africa, but was injured shortly before and was thus only in the extended array of Honduras.
