Chacarilla Municipality

The municipality Chacarilla is a district in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Chacarilla is one of three Municipalities of the province of Gualberto Villarroel and is located in the northwestern part of the province. It is bordered to the north and west by the province Pacajes, to the south by the department of Oruro, and on the east by the municipality of San Pedro de Curahuara.

The municipality has 38 localities ( Localidades ), the central location of the municipality is Chacarilla with 23 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality. The largest town in the municipality of Puerto flavor is with 205 inhabitants. ( 2001 census )

Geography

The municipality Chacarilla located on the Bolivian Altiplano at an average altitude of 3850 meters, bounded on the east by the ridge of the Serranía de Huayllamarca and to the north by the Río Desaguadero. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate where the temperatures during the day have larger fluctuations than in the course of the year.

The mean average temperature of the municipality is just under 9 ° C (see climate chart Callapa ), the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 5 ° C in July and well 10 ° C from November to March. The annual precipitation is about 400 mm, the monthly rainfall are between 0 and 10 mm in the months of May to August and 100 mm in January.
