Chaguaya

Chaguaya is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

Chaguaya is the central place of the Canton of Puerto Chaguaya district ( bolivian: municipality ) in the province of Puerto Carabuco Eliodoro Camacho. The village lies at an altitude of 3852 m in the Bolivian highlands on the eastern shore of Lake Titicaca.

Geography

Chaguaya located on the Bolivian Altiplano at the western edge of the Cordillera Real. The climate of the region is a typical diurnal climate, in which the mean temperature variation during the day is more distinct than in the course of the seasons.

The average annual temperature of the region is located at 9 ° C (see climate chart Quilima ), the monthly values ​​vary between about 7 ° C in June / July and 11 ° C in November / December. Traffic network

Chaguaya is located 149 kilometers by road north-west of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Ruta 2 runs north 70 km to Huarina, from there another 79 km on the Ruta Achacachi and Ancoraimes after Chaguaya from where the road leads 16 to Puerto Carabuco.
