In the hamlet Quintin are still remnants of the former castle to see which existed in the 14th century. The residents moved there at that time ago to live in Quintin, where the climate was less moist, but maintained their carts and wagons (French: la charrette ) to be left in today's settlement area, which later the place name arose.

A chapel from the 13th century was located close to the river bank, housed a Virgin of the sick and the skipper, survived several floods, until they were finally destroyed in 1920. The present church dates from the mid-18th century, is located in an annex of the rescued Holy Virgin.
