Charles Kwame Takyi (* 12 November 1984 in Accra ) is a German - Ghanaian footballer.

Career

In the club

The midfielder played until 2000 Tennis Borussia Berlin and then moved for four years to FC Schalke 04, with whom he won the A- Youth Cup. During his time at Schalke he tore himself in a training accident a part of the left ring finger off. From 2004 to 2006 he belonged to the squad of Hamburger SV, in which it was used among others in the Intertoto Cup. From the season 2006/ 07 stood at Takyi city rivals FC St. Pauli under contract and there rose in the 2nd Bundesliga.

For the season 2008/ 09 he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth, where he was awarded a three -year contract. After a year Takyi again left the club and signed for season 2009/10, again a three-year contract with FC St. Pauli, which he ascended into the Bundesliga. His first two Bundesliga matches he scored 29 January 2011 against 1 FC Cologne. For the season 2012/13 he received at St. Pauli no contract extension more and therefore was without a club.

Beginning in February 2013 signed Takyi after a trial a contract until the end of the season 2012/13 in the Danish first division side AC Horsens.

After half a year in Denmark Takyi joined the 2013/14 season back to Germany for FC Energie Cottbus. He signed a contract until 30 June 2015.

In the National Team

In 2001, he once played for the German U-18 national team. In November 2011 Takyi was invited by the Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic in a training camp of the Ghanaian national team in Paris and arrived on 15 November in a friendly against Gabon in Saint -Leu- la -Forêt by Substitutes for his international debut.
