Chinautla

Chinautla (formerly Santa Cruz Chinautla ) is a 30,000 inhabitants town in Guatemala and the administrative seat of the homonymous municipios in the department of Guatemala. The city is located around 10 kilometers north of Guatemala City and is one of their agglomeration.

The 80- km ² large municipality extends in the northern highlands of the department of Guatemala at altitudes 1200-1700 meters. It has a total population of over 100,000, which are the majority are Pocomam. A majority of the people live in rural settlements and villages, including Jocotales, San José Buenavista, El Durazno, Tres sabanas, Las Lomas, Cumbre del Guayabo, San Antonio Las Flores, San Rafael Las Flores, La Laguneta, El Chan, Concepción Sacojito, Paraíso, Santa Isabel, Las Vegas, Las Delincas and Paris. In the south of Municipalities, the population in Chinautlas new and old towns that make up the northern end of the metropolitan area of Guatemala City is concentrated.

Adjacent Municipalities are Chuarrancho in the north, San Pedro Ayampuc in the east, Guatemala City in the south, as well as Mixco and San Raimundo in the West.
