Chodová Planá

Chodová Plana ( German Kuttenplan ) is a town with 1,793 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It lies 537 m above sea level, about eight kilometers south of the town of Marianske Lazne and belongs to the Okres Tachov on.

History

Already in 1316, the place - in 1514 raised to town - mentioned in historical sources in the possession of the Knights Ctibor and Oldrich. The small parties of that time was inhabited until 1733.

From the 16th century the Counts of Haimhausen held the rule. In a catastrophic fire in 1733, the former church of the village burned down and was in the years 1748 to 1754 are replaced by the new Baroque church, together with the rectory. The parish church was dedicated to St. John the Baptist. In 1930, numbered according to official statistics on community Kuttenplan 1698 Catholics and 37 non-Catholics.

1734 was the baroque palace, a two -bladed storey building with mansard roof and 1906 another castle.

The first written mention of the cowl planner brewery dates back to 1573, first owner was the noble family of silt. 1634 in Kuttenplan already " 1,920 buckets " of beer, about 1,173 hectoliters brewed.

After a fire in 1861 the then owner, Count of Berchem- Haimhausen over the old rock cellars built the brewery left today, which belonged to the Counts of Berchem- Haimhausen until the time of the Second World War. Today, the Czech beer brand " Chodovar " comes from the brewery in Chodová Plana, which is owned by private owners.

In addition to the municipal office there at the site a primary school and a post office as well as the sports club TJ Slavoj Chodová Plana.

The place is known mainly thanks to the oldest brewery in the West Bohemian region called Chodovar. The first written records of this brewery dates back to 1573. Evidence that much earlier beer was brewed on site, are the original storage cellar from the 14th century that have been carved into a granite rock and even today are used for secondary fermentation of special lager. In one part of the brewery cellar there is a small brewery museum and a restaurant. You can get there by a 40-meter -long rock gear.

Worth seeing in Chodová Plana also the small baroque palace and the large park with old trees. January 23, 2007 Chodová Plana was raised to the spots.
