Chožov

Chožov ( German Koschow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-east of Louny in the southwestern foothills of the Bohemian Uplands and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

Chožov located to the left of Eger in the headwaters of Chožovský creek. The village is in the northwest is dominated by the 359 meter high Chožovská hora, an elongated mountain of volcanic origin.

Neighboring towns are Třtěno in the north, Orasice the southeast, Počedělice, Obora and Vršovice in the south, Nečichy in the southwest and Chraberce and Mnichovský Týnec in the northwest.

History

Was first mentioned in a document of 1056 Chodžov collegiate chapter of St. Stephen in Litoměřice. Since 1370 the church of St. Michael is detectable. The owner of the village changed frequently. Since the abolition of patrimonial regimes in 1848 Chodžov is an independent municipality.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Chožov Chožov ( Koschow ) Mnichovský Týnec ( Steinteinitz ) and Třtěno ( Kröndorf ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke.
