Christian Penigaud

Christian Penigaud ( born February 27, 1964 in Poitiers) is a French former beach volleyball player. He became the first European Champion and participated in two Olympic Games.

Career

Penigaud began his international career in 1990 with Jean -Philippe Jodard. The duo was founded in 1993 in Almería with a victory in the final against the Norwegian Jan Kvalheim and Bjorn Maaseide first European Champion. In Atlanta in 1996, the French were also at the Olympic premiere there and lost in the second round against the Brazilians Zé Marco and Emanuel.

After an interlude with Thierry Glowacz Penigaud occurred in 1997, the 1997 World Series again with Jodard and was ranked 17th two years later they reached ninth place at the World Cup in Marseille and were ninth of the European Championship in Sochi. In her second Olympic participation in 2000 in Sydney they missed by two defeats the knockout stages. It was Jodards last international appearance.
