1999 European Beach Volleyball Championships

The Beach Volleyball European Championship 1999 was held from 26 to 29 August in Palma ( Spain) instead. The competitions for men and women were held in parallel. It was the sixth official EM women and the seventh tournament of the men. The Italians Laura Bruschini and Anna Maria Solazzi defeated in the final Frenchwomen Anabelle Prawerman and Cécile Rigaux, while the Czech duo Eva Celbová and Soňa Novakova - Dosoudilová dust prevailed in the duel for third place against Germany Ulrike Schmidt and Gudula. The Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga could successfully defend their title in the final against the Spaniard Javier Bosma and Fabio Díez. Last year's finalists January Kvalheim and Bjorn Maaseide finished third this time. The victorious duo each received € 20,000 and 200 points for the world ranking.
