2002 European Beach Volleyball Championships
The Beach Volleyball European Championship 2002 was held from 29 August to 1 September in Basel ( Switzerland). The competitions for men and women were held in parallel. It was the ninth official EM women and the tenth tournament of men. The Italians Daniela Gattelli and Lucilla Perrotta sat down in the final against the Dutch duo Rebekka Kadijk and Marrit Leenstra by. The men's final won by the Germans Markus Dieckmann and Jonas Recker man against the three -time European Champion Martin and Paul Laciga from Switzerland. The Norwegian Vegard Hoidalen and JORRE André Kjemperud reached for the third time in a row the third place.

Mode
For women and men, respectively 24 teams competed. The tournament was played in double- knock -out procedure. The winners received 20,000 euro and 200 points for the world rankings per couple.
