2000 European Beach Volleyball Championships
The Beach Volleyball European Championship 2000 was held from 24th to 27th of August in Getxo (Spain). The competitions for men and women were held in parallel. It was the seventh official EM women and the eighth men's tournament. The Germans Jana Vollmer and Danja Müsch defeated in the final to defending champions Laura Bruschini and Anna Maria Solazzi from Italy. The bronze medal went to the Dutch sister Rebekah Kadijk and Debora Schoon - Kadijk. The Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga won with a win against their compatriots Sascha Heyer and Markus Egger for the third time in a row the title. The third place went to the Norwegian Vegard Hoidalen and JORRE André Kjemperud.

Mode
When the women went to 30 teams in the men and 32 duos. The tournament was played in double- knock -out procedure. The winners received 18,000 euro and 180 points for the world rankings per couple.
